Leadership
Greg Huston – Executive Director, Board Member, Weekend Leader
- As a senior in high school Greg heard the gospel and committed his life to Christ. He became involved in leading Bible studies and served on staff at The Chapel in Akron, Ohio. He went on to Grace College and then to Westminster Theological Seminary where he graduated with a Master of Arts in Religion.
- Greg served as a pastor for 18 years in several churches. Most of his
pastoral ministry was spent serving in two inner-city churches. In 2001,
he started Dare to Soar, a ministry dedicated to coming alongside men to
heal their brokenness so that they live their lives at new levels of
integrity, courage and grace. - Greg did his men's initiation weekend in 1996 and since has been involved in leading men's work. He has pioneered the effort to create an initiation weekend for Christian men. He has participated in many retreats for men and has led dozens of men's weekends and groups. His passion is to help men wrestle honestly with the issues of their heart so that they experience grace at a core level of their soul and become men, like Jesus, who live with purpose, passion and power.
- Greg has been married to Toni for 31 years and has two adult daughters, Jessica and Hannah.
- Chris has had a long career in marketing, fundraising and nonprofit leadership including 25 years with Easter Seals national headquarters. - Chris went on his initial Dare to Soar weekend in March 2007 after he began to face the parts of his life that had not been working for him. He has completed the Dare To Soar Two-Year Transformational Program.
- Chris has been actively serving in his church in Wheaton for many years and in has been involved with various ministries including serving on the boards of Outreach Community Ministries, Growthtrac Ministries and the regional board of his denomination. He joined The Crucible Project board in 2009.

Judson Poling – Board Member, Weekend Leader
- Judson has been in full-time church ministry at Willow Creek Community Church since 1980, serving in a variety of roles. After taking a sabbatical in 1997‹and owning up to his own "inner Pharisee" he returned to Willow and began reorienting his life and ministry around the fundamental reality of the need for truth and grace at core levels of the soul.
- Judson met Greg Huston in 2002 and realized the work Greg was doing in his Dare to Soar weekends was embodying the very things Judson had begun to stress in his various church ministry roles. He staffed his first Dare to Soar weekend in May of 2003-and has never looked back.
- Judson was part of the first Crucible Project Board that formed in December of 2005, and he continues to serve on the Board. He also volunteers as Dare to Soar retreat leader and co-leader, and has helped Greg create and lead Dare to Soar second-level weekends. He is also a Men’s Soul Group facilitator.
- Judson lives in Algonquin with his wife, Deb, who is co-founder and leader of Women Revealed retreats (the sister organization to Dare to Soar). They have two grown children, Anna (married to Ben Greeno) and Ryan (and both Ben and Ryan are Dare to Soar graduates).
- Chris Stacey is a trial lawyer, musician, husband and father of four who resides in Chicago. He also currently serves on the board of the Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic and is a member of LaSalle Street Church.
- Chris was invited by Judson Poling to attend a Dare To Soar weekend in May 2003 and reluctantly agreed to check it out. He thanks God (and Judson) that he did, and has been involved in small group work on a regular basis ever since. He joined the board in 2008 as a way to support the work of other men in their discovery of how to be self-aware passionate, fulfilled men in a world that tends to drown men in lies.
