Greg Huston – Executive Director, Board Member, Weekend Leader
- As a senior in high school Greg heard the gospel and committed his life to Christ. He became involved in leading Bible studies and served on staff at The Chapel in Akron, Ohio. He went on to Grace College and then to Westminster Theological Seminary where he graduated with a Master of Arts in Religion.
- Greg served as a pastor for 18 years in several churches. Most of his pastoral ministry was spent serving in two inner-city churches. In 2001, he started Dare to Soar, a ministry dedicated to coming alongside men to heal their brokenness so that they live their lives at new levels of integrity, courage and grace.
- Greg did his men's initiation weekend in 1996 and since has been involved in leading men's work. He has pioneered the effort to create an initiation weekend for Christian men. He has participated in many retreats for men and has led dozens of men's weekends and groups. His passion is to help men wrestle honestly with the issues of their heart so that they experience grace at a core level of their soul and become men, like Jesus, who live with purpose, passion and power.
- Greg has been married to Toni for 31 years and has two married daughters, Jessica and Hannah, and one grandson.
- Chad is a partner in a Chicago-area management consulting firm.
- Chad attended his initial weekend in April 2001 and has staffed 10+ Crucible weekends since, serving in various roles including: weekend coordinator, exercise leader and individual facilitator.
- Chad has completed the Crucible Project 2-Year Transformational Program and was a Men's Soul Group facilitator for part of 2010. He was added to the Crucible Project Board in Jan 2011.
- Chad lives in Deerfield, IL with Kelly, his wife of 19 years, and has 3 children - Alex, Andrew, and Abby.
Chris Cleghorn – Board Member, Secretary
- Chris has had a long career in marketing, fundraising and nonprofit leadership including over 25 years with Easter Seals national headquarters. He has been active with nonprofit issues and policy at a national level having served on the boards of both the Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers and the Direct Marketing Association. After Easter Seals he headed marketing and resource development for The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and now he consults with leading nonprofit organizations and ministries.
- Chris went on his initial Crucible weekend in March 2007 after he began to face the parts of his life that had not been working for him. He has completed The Crucible Project Two-Year Transformational Program.
- Chris has been actively serving in his church in Wheaton for many years and in has been involved with various ministries including serving on the boards of Outreach Community Ministries, Growthtrac Ministries and the regional board of his denomination. He joined The Crucible Project board in 2009.
- Chris has been married for over 35 years. He has three adult children and a still growing family with three grandchildren.
Bob Locascio – Board Member, Treasurer
- Bob is a trained electrical engineer and is currently employed by Motorola Solutions as a Senior Innovation Development Mgr.
- Bob attended his initial Crucible weekend in August of 2004 at the invitation of his therapist. He has completed the Crucible Project 2-Year Transformational Program.
- Bob has staffed at 30+ Crucible weekends since, serving in various roles including: co-leader, weekend coordinator, exercise leader and individual facilitator. He is also a Men’s Soul Group facilitator. Bob was added to the Crucible Project Board in Jan 2007, and he serves as Treasurer.
- Bob is divorced and has one adult daughter, Lauren.
- Jeff is an accomplished communications executive and the director of employee communications for Motorola Solutions, a leading provider of mission-critical communication products and services for enterprise and government customers. Most recently, he set the strategic leadership agenda for Motorola's separation into two independent, publicly traded companies. He serves as a trusted adviser and counselor to senior executives.
- Jeff also is a highly decorated naval officer, and is a Lieutenant Commander (retired) from the United States Naval Reserve, where he served 20 years. There he was honored with the Defense Meritorious Service medal (the nation’s third-highest defense award for meritorious service) for his work in establishing the military response for the Department of Homeland Security after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
- Jeff attended his initial Crucible weekend in March of 2008 and has since completed the Two-Year Transformational Program. He joined the Crucible Project board in February of 2011.
- Jeff and his wife, Helena, actively serve in their church in West Dundee. Jeff and Helena have been married eight years, have one daughter and live in Gilberts, IL
Judson Poling – Chairman of the Board, Weekend Leader
- Judson has been in full-time church ministry at Willow Creek Community Church since 1980, serving in a variety of roles. After taking a sabbatical in 1997‹and owning up to his own "inner Pharisee" he returned to Willow and began reorienting his life and ministry around the fundamental reality of the need for truth and grace at core levels of the soul.
- Judson met Greg Huston in 2002 and realized the work Greg was doing in his Crucible weekends was embodying the very things Judson had begun to stress in his various church ministry roles. He staffed his first Crucible weekend in May of 2003-and has never looked back.
- Judson was part of the first Crucible Project Board that formed in December of 2005, and he continues to serve on the Board. He also volunteers as Crucible retreat leader and co-leader, and has helped Greg create and lead Crucible Porject second-level weekends. He is also a Men’s Soul Group facilitator.
- Judson lives in Algonquin with his wife, Deb, who is co-founder and leader of Women Revealed (the sister organization to The Crucible Project ). They have two grown children, Anna (married to Ben Greeno) and Ryan (and both Ben and Ryan are Crucible Weekend graduates), and has one grandson.
- Chris Stacey is a trial lawyer, musician, husband and father of four who resides in Chicago. He also currently serves on the board of the Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic and is a member of LaSalle Street Church.
- Chris was invited by Judson Poling to attend a Crucible weekend in May 2003 and reluctantly agreed to check it out. He thanks God (and Judson) that he did, and has been involved in small group work on a regular basis ever since. He joined the board in 2008 as a way to support the work of other men in their discovery of how to be self-aware passionate, fulfilled men in a world that tends to drown men in lies.
